Salmon Brine is Vital for Outstanding Smoked Salmon







Salmon brine is critical in the preparation of quality smoked salmon.

Here is a brine recipe that although basic works well with salmon.

1 - gallon water

1 - cup salt (without iodine)

1 - cup of sugar

Dissolve in cold water by mixing thoroughly. Then Soak in brine for 4 to 6 hours in the refrigerator.

Next, rinse salmon thoroughly and let air dry until tacky. Now you are ready for the smoker.



Here is a solution I really like for salmon. Have a try at this, I am sure you will like it.

2 - quarts water

2 - cups soy sauce

1 - cup brown sugar

ΒΌ - cup salt (without iodine)

2 - tablespoons garlic powder

2 - tablespoons onion powder

2 - tablespoons seasoning salt

Mix all ingredients until dissolved. Soak the salmon for 4 to 6 hours, then remove rinse and air dry until tacky. Your ready for the smoker.

Pick out a fish brine and lets get Smoky!
